Whether you make or buy most of your children's clothing, it is apparent that new clothes trigger growth spurts! There is a thesis there for some enterprising PHD candidate. . . We actually recorded the growth of one child, quite by accident. My mother was visiting from a far distance and when her visit came to a close she asked that we measure each child against a door frame. She wanted to be alerted when they had grown. Her flight was an overnight red-eye special so we measured the kids during the late morning and took Grandma to the airport later that day. The next morning when my children were getting ready for school I noticed that one daughter's pants seemed shorter on her than the day before. Sure enough, she had grown a full 1/2 inch overnight! So, my mother got her report as soon as she arrived home-and I am still amazed.
