There is something about dance that touches the soul of everyone. We appreciate good dance routines, move instinctively to strong rhythms or soft flowing melodies - whether we are whole or disabled, matters not. Dance seems to be the reaching of the inner self with unspoken expression in response to the vibration of the world around us. Even though I had an early case of polio, during my life I have explored a variety of dance styles. Costuming seems to be my big focus, but I love to "clap" my feet to any number of music styles - and have even choreographed early clogging routines. Perhaps the most fun is the Dance Dance Revolution software and mat that the whole family loves to work with. If you haven't explored this variety of "dance" you might give it a try. The software I own has a training mode and a workout mode, even displaying the number of calories expended.
