Our world is populated with facts about nearly everything these days! 100 years ago, folks were still relying heavily on old wives' tales and hearsay to base their thinking and treatment of one another. Surprisingly, we are still subject to this type of misconception and it is still as easy to come to the wrong conclusion - or be persuaded - about many things. Doesn't help when we hear that an old standby "fact" has just been proven wrong-or something new has taken the place of our comfortable set ways. Here are a few books and products to keep the mind sharp-and one link (here) to my own research, done as a college essay assignment. The assignment was specific: any subject was allowed EXCEPT a political or religious issue. So, I chose to do a political religious essay. Even though the professor was skeptical about it, he granted permission, with a warning that I could expect a low grade since my essay would violate his given assignment.
