Our relationship with technology is a love-hate affair! Whether we have to adapt to it or it adapts to us is a question worth asking. I've had more tears and more fun with new technologies than I could have guessed 20 short years ago. My HDTV and Nintendo DS Lite are two pieces of technology I wouldn't want to part with. The DS Lite is one of the best handheld game systems available. Lite means both lightweight and a nice bright double screen system. The touch screen is a blast and I can't wait until my son arrives for a visit so we can utilize the wireless gameplay.

One of my sons is a computer engineer. Although the company he works for manufactures only new components, this son highly recommends refurbished computers and electronics (see link at right). The thinking is this: these units undergo stringent repair and testing, much more than a new item off the factory floor. Companies do not want returns and with a refurbished model all care has been taken to ensure it will not come back again. I've had good luck with refurbished items, and of course the price reductions can't be beat.
