Original Cherry Streusel Cake
Cream: 1 cup butter or 2/3 cup canola oil 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1/2 tsp almond extract 3/4 tsp vanilla Sift and add to above mixture slowly, stirring in: 2 cups flour 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt Spread 3/4 of the mixture in a greased 9x13" pan. Top with one can of cherry pie filling or other fruit pie filling as desired (cool first if freshly made pie filling). Top with remaining cake batter and sprinkle with streusel topping: 2 T. butter 1/3 cup brown sugar 1/3 cup flour 1/4 tsp cinnamon Mix until crumbly.
