Amazing Quick Pudding Cake

Using a small (9 oz) cake mix, follow instructions using half the recommended liquid. Pour into 8" cake pan. Sprinkle with 4 oz pudding mix (not instant). Pour over all 1 3/4 cups hot water (unusual but appropriate!). Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Pudding sauce will be at the bottom of the cake. Serve warm or chilled with ice cream or whipped topping, spooning sauce over the top.
